Dear Applicant:
The Jamestown Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force has funds available
for substance abuse prevention projects. Our intention is to fund programs that
have a clearly defined substance abuse prevention component. Prevention
programs may be educational in nature or alternate activities such as
recreational, social and cultural events. Projects may teach problem-solving and
decision-making skills, increase self-esteem and encourage positive group
interaction. Hopefully, these programs will promote healthy attitudes and
decrease the likelihood of substance abuse.
We are particularly interested in supporting programs that have obtained
funding from a variety of sources as well as those that have a good chance of
being self-sustaining in the future. Should the proposal be approved for funding
by the Task Force, an evaluation form will be expected to be submitted within
two weeks of the completion of the program. The maximum amount that the
Task Force generally approves for funding is $500.00. Please call Laura
Hosley, Coordinator, at 423-3317 if you have any questions.
