Planning Commission Minutes
February 4, 1998

Meeting was called to order at 7:32 pm.
The following were present:

Commissioner Brennan arrives at 7:35 pm.

I.  Reading and Approval of Minutes from January 21, 1998.
A motion was made by Commissioner Webster and seconded by Commissioner
Girard to amend the minutes from January 21st.
      The amendment is as follows:
page 3 - last paragraph in section V #1; Add as the last sentence
"Commission asked Mr. Estes not to pursue the combination driveway at this
time."
So voted:

II.  Correspondence
1.  CRMC Corrected Aquaculture Assent to William J. Geib to: Conduct
commercial aquaculture operations in a 330'x600' area located off the
shores of Jamestown, north-northeast of Dutch Island.
      Up to 264-bottom cages, arranged on 24-trawl lines, will be utilized
to grow bay scallops, American Oysters, European Oysters, and hard shell
clams in approximately 4.5 acres Narragansett Bay; located approx. 700'
off the shores of Jamestown and 2700' north-northeast of Dutch Island, in
the Town of Jamestown.  Received & Acknowledged
2.  CRMC notice to Valerie S. Tessier, 682 Centerville Rd., Warwick to
construct and maintain: a 4'x117' fixed timber pier.
      The fixed pier will extend 50 feet beyond mean low water MLW and
serviced by water and electric utilities to: 529 Seaside Drive, Jamestown.
      Received & Acknowledged
3.  CRMC FINDING NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT to Cottrell Pier Associates, c/o
John Murphy, 77 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown RE: CRMC file #A98-1-6 to
remove and replace 10'x10' shed, located at Racquet Rd., Jamestown, Plat
9, Lot 773.  Received & Acknowledged
4.   CRMC FINDING NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT to Elaine Barone/Evangelista, 29
Decatur Rd, Jamestown RE: CRMC file #M98-1-12 to reconstruct existing
fieldstone wall along the south property line as per the approved plan,
located at 368 East Shore Rd., Plat 4, Lot 33.  Received & Acknowledged
5.  FYI: Copy of 2 articles from the Ocean State Aquaculture Assoc.
Newsletter.  Received & Acknowledged
6.  FYI: Copy of Zoning Board of Review Agenda for February 24, 1998 and
appeal.  Received & Acknowledged

III.  Citizens Non Agenda Items
With nothing at this time move on to Reports.

IV.  Reports
a.   Town Planner's Report - Submitted
b.  Town Committees

Commissioner Waters requested that the Town Planner call DEM and ask for a
copy of the DEM Reorganization Bill.

Commissioner Webster asked the Planner to look into the fees in lieu of
dedication as stated in the Subdivision Regulations and if they can be
implemented.

V.   Old Business
1.   Comprehensive Plan Survey Questions
The Commission discussed the Comprehensive Plan and proposed suggested
changes to the Planner.  

VI.  New Business
With nothing at this time a motion was made by Commissioner Waters and
seconded by Commissioner Brennan to adjourn the meeting adjourned at 10:18
pm.
