PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

August 15, 2001

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. and the following members
were present:

I.  Reading and Approval of Minutes from August 1, 2001

A motion was made by Commissioner Calabretta and seconded by Commissioner
Brennan to accept the minutes as written.  So voted:

  Motion passes by a vote of 6-0

2.  CRMC - Finding of No Significant Impact - Town of Jamestown, 44
Southwest Ave, Jamestown RI 02835; Construct stormwater drainage and
Landscaping Improvements to the existing Jamestown Community Center,
Sheets 1-14 @ 41 Conanicus Ave. Jamestown, RI Plat 9, Lot 252. Received

3.  CRMC - Assent Modification - Thomas & Linda Pearson, 19 Sail St.
Jamestown, RI 02835; revised DEM             approved ISDS and dwelling

4.  CRMC - Certificate of Maintenance - Thayer Roberts, 196 Highland Dr.

V.   Old Business

1. Review of Comprehensive Harbor Management Plan - Revised working Draft
21 March 2001.

Commissioner Webster asked if this discussion could be postponed until
after Mr. Harry Wright arrives to the meeting.  All in Favor.

2. Proposed High Groundwater Table - Regulation- Discussion

The Planning Commission decided to form a subcommittee for facilitating
the development of the high groundwater table ordinance.
      The suggestions were as follows:

Lisa Bryer - Town Planner
Laura Aibel - Planning Commission
David Swain - Town Council
Tom Johnson - Conservation Commission
The Planning Commission would like to have a representative from the
Zoning Board.

Although this issue is very important the Planning Commission wants to
finalize the Comprehensive Community Plan first before moving forward with
this.

3. Review of Comprehensive Harbor Management Plan - Revised working Draft
21 March 2001. Continued

Mr. Harry Wright, representing the Harbor Management Commission listened
to the comments from the Planning Commission regarding the Harbor
Management Plan and will amend the plan accordingly. 

V.  New Business - Nothing at this time

Commissioner Calabretta made a motion that was seconded by Commissioner
Webster to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 p.m.  All in Favor.
