TOWN COUNCIL
JAMESTOWN, RHODE ISLAND
August 3, 1998

A special meeting of the Jamestown Town Council was called to order at the
Jamestown Philomenian Library, 26 North Road at 4:50 PM by Council
President Craig A. Amerigian. The following members were present:

David E. Dolce, Vice President
William H. Murphy

(Absent: Councilor Fred F. Pease, Councilor Ellicot Wright, Town Solicitor
Quentin Anthony)

Also present were:
Maryanne Crawford, CPA,Town Administrator/Interim Finance Director
Arlene D. Kalooski, Town Clerk

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

1)        Fort Wetherill Committee: A letter drafted by the Fort Wetherill
Committee to Mr. John Kelly of the National Park Service was presented to
the Council for discussion and revisions.
      A revision was made to the second paragraph to read as follows:
Respectfully, the Town would encourage RIDEM to consider restoring the
existing structures and utilizing them for their Fisheries Division in a
manner that conforms to the original application of August 4, 1983, that
was subsequently incorporated into the deed and guaranteed in perpetuity.
      

Councilor Murphy moved that the Council President send, on behalf of the
Town Council, a letter as revised and dated August 3rd to Mr. John Kelly,
N. E. Regional Office, National Park Service.  Councilor Dolce seconded
the motion.  So unanimously voted.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business before the Council, motion by Councilor
Murphy to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 P.M.  Councilor Amerigian seconded. 
So unanimously voted.
